Druze women hold an important position among the Druze and enjoy a respected status within the family and Druze society in general. The Druze religion prohibits polygamy, and a Druze woman can become a spiritual leader and perform all religious duties.
Several Druze prophets and clerics have addressed the status of women in Druze society. Based on religious rulings, marriage and divorce take place by mutual consent and not by coercion, and women also have their share of inheritance.
The Druze believe that women are the essence of society, and most Druze girls complete their education and engage in work across all sectors.
