Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif stated that the Unitarian Druze in As-Suwayda were the ones who laid the first cornerstone of the Syrian state nearly a century ago, and no one can outbid the sacrifices they have made over the decades, especially their steadfastness on their land and their adherence to their country during the Syrian Civil War.
He emphasized that the community's steadfastness in Syria undoubtedly necessitates maintaining unity among the spiritual leaders (Sheikhs al-Aql) and the popular and political leaderships in the Mountain, as no two people disagree on the demands of the community and its sons.
His Eminence has held numerous contacts over the past few days with the Druze leaderships in the Mountain, urging them to work together and unite.
In the same context, His Eminence is currently conducting a series of international communications with parties operating in Syria to prevent the suppression of the peaceful popular struggle of the people of the Mountain.
