Fares grew up in a quiet village in northern Palestine – Hurfeish, from the Druze community. His dreams were directed towards studying medicine, but he ended up in the field of biology and pharmacology, a decision that significantly changed his life.

After finishing his high school studies, Fares decided to pursue his passion for biology and pharmacology. He was accepted into the Faculty of Biology at the Hebrew University, where his remarkable academic journey began. From there, his scientific career took off, leaving a positive impact in the field of medical research and molecular genetics.
During his graduate studies, Fares worked as a research assistant in the field of pharmacology, where his pioneering ideas about how to improve the efficacy of medical treatments were formed. He was given the opportunity to specialize in his studies and participate in innovative research that positively influences the field of health and medicine.
Over time, Fares moved to the United States to continue his studies and develop his ideas in the field of molecular genetics. There, he succeeded in developing a new fertility hormone that is used globally, demonstrating the possibility of achieving innovation in the world of medical science.
Fares returned to Palestine after years of study and research in the United States and decided to return to his homeland to continue his career. He founded and managed the Department of Molecular Genetics at Carmel Hospital in Haifa, and became a professor in the Department of Human Biology at the University of Haifa and a senior lecturer at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
However, the achievements did not stop there. Fares launched a successful project in the field of designing long-acting molecular proteins for clinical use, leading him to success on both national and international levels. His company, Prolor Biotech, was acquired by OPKO Health for a large sum, making him one of the pioneers in the field of biotechnology.
In addition to his research and entrepreneurial achievements, Fuad Fares also dedicates his time to promoting education and research in his community and among minorities in Palestine. He strives to increase the participation rate of minorities in the fields of science, medicine, and technology.
