Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon His chosen, truthful, guiding, and trustworthy Messenger, his chosen family and companions, and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
To proceed: God Almighty, the Most High, the Creator, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and Lord of the sunrises” (1), the Almighty, the Forgiving, the Eternal existence without beginning or end, transcendent in His essence without place, time, modality, or manner. He is capable of all things and is the Wisest of judges. Out of His great grace and generosity, He bestowed upon man blessings determined according to his capacity and strength.
God Almighty said: “Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.” (2)
God Almighty addressed His creation, saying: “Am I not your Lord?” (3) Since that time, He has never left them in any era or age without prophets and messengers to remind them of His forgotten blessings, as He, the Almighty, said: “So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder.” (4)
Divine revelation is communicated through a human being, who is God's vicegerent on earth. He speaks to people and performs miracles by the support of God Almighty to guide the chosen nation to the straight path and the sound tradition. This was the case since Adam (peace be upon him), whom God Almighty taught His hidden knowledge and all the names, so the angels bowed down to him.
Divine wisdom willed that there be a force of evil to oppose the guidance of the messengers, represented by the accursed Iblis (Satan), who envied the noble Adam and refused to bow to him. Although he acknowledges Divine Might, there is no benefit in acknowledging Divine Greatness if it is not coupled with obedience to those whom God sent as guidance, proof, and a blessing to others. Since that time, the conflict between truth and falsehood, light and darkness, and guidance and misguidance began. The conflict then shifted into the souls receiving the effects of both guidance and misguidance alike, making the struggle against one's self (Jihad al-Nafs) the greatest struggle.
After Adam came Noah and many messengers after him (peace be upon them), up to the Seal of the Prophets (peace be upon him), all establishing the foundation of guidance, which is the worship of God and piety, and acknowledging those whom He sent as proof to the worlds.
As for Iblis, may God curse him, who was expelled from Paradise for refusing to obey Adam (peace be upon him), he swore that he would mislead all of creation. At all times, and through his condemned advocates, he called for the adoption of idols of people to confront the call of truth represented by the Messenger of guidance.
Abraham the Khalil (peace be upon him) had the most prominent role in shattering idol worship with clear arguments, proving the mediation of the messenger. The most dangerous aspect was that Satan would spread his helpers who realized the meaning of perfection in man, thus exceeding the concept of God's vicegerency on earth to claim divinity, as Nimrod and Pharaoh—may God curse them—did.
Then came the interlocutor of God, Moses (peace be upon him) to the Children of Israel, whom the Almighty addressed on Mount Tur, as He said in Surah Al-A'raf: “And when Moses arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, 'My Lord, show me [Yourself] that I may look at You.' [Allah] said, 'You will not see Me...'” (5) His saying, 'You will not see Me,' does not invalidate the hope of the righteous, nor does it cast despair into their souls; rather, it spreads comfort within them, strengthens hope, and ignites the fire of longing for the day of meeting. 'You will not see Me in this world' serves as a longing for the fulfillment of the destined promise in the Hereafter.
After that, the Messiah (peace be upon him) came as a miraculous sign through his actions, for he performed miraculous feats that stunned the falsifiers and revealed the deception of the arrogant: the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the dead rise...
As for the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him), he brought the miracle of his era, which is the clear Book of God, the Holy Quran, which distinguished between truth and falsehood. It is a spiritual miracle that remains throughout days and ages, a luminous edifice, a sacred sanctuary, and a vast sea full of pearls.
People regarding the Quran are of three types: one group did not find the learning of the parables that God set forth in His Book, and which the Prophetic Sunnah followed, to be a gradual training to realize its transcendent truths. Their example is like those who cannot swim; if they attempt to dive, their fate is drowning.
Two groups are successful: the first are believers who attest to the truth but lack the ability, determination, courage, and initiative. Their example is like those who know how to swim but fear diving into the depths, where the pearls are at the bottom of the sea.
A higher group excelled in success. Their goal in learning to swim was not just exercising the soul, but their longing and desire to disappear from the surface of the horizons and dive into the depths to obtain the luxurious pearls that dazzle the eyes. They are the people of piety and the scholars, as the Almighty said: “Only those among His servants who possess knowledge fear Allah.” For them, the doors of grace were opened, and them the Messenger of Mercy meant when he said: “Some knowledge is like a hidden form; none knows it except those who know God.”
It was in the wisdom of Islamic legislation that Islam brings together under its banner different types of respondents, saying: “To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.” (6)
The Druze monotheists, like other Islamic sects, believe in the unity of the truth of faith in all heavenly messages, acting in accordance with His saying: “Say, 'We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him.' Truthful is God the Almighty.” (7)
Our final prayer is praise to God who created us, for He guides us, sustains us, gives us drink, and when we are ill, He heals us. Thanks be to His Messenger, who upholds His command, the truthful, the promising, and the trustworthy.
