On the morning of Sunday, September 10, 2023, thousands of members and sheikhs of the Druze community from the Galilee, Carmel, and Golan gathered at the Maqam of our Master Sabalan (peace be upon him) to commemorate the traditional annual pilgrimage ceremony to the shrine located in the village of Hurfeish.
The pilgrimage ceremony began with a speech delivered by His Eminence Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif, the spiritual leader of the Druze community. Prior to the official ceremony, speeches were also given by Sheikh Abu Ali Muhanna Muhammad Fares, the custodian of the Hurfeish Khalwa, who welcomed the visitors and noted the importance of this pilgrimage, which the town's residents consider an annual holiday, followed by Mr. Jaber Hammoud, Head of the Sajur Local Council and Chairman of the Forum of Druze Local Authorities, and Mr. Abdullah Kheir al-Din, Head of the Hurfeish Local Council.
It is noteworthy that the visit was characterized by a special, unified spiritual atmosphere and enjoyed broad participation, including the presence of His Eminence Sheikh Abu Yusuf Salih Qadmani, Sheikh Abu Ahmed Taher Abu Saleh, Sheikh Abu Hussein Hayel Halabi, judges of the Druze religious courts, and custodians of the Khalwas and Imams.
His Eminence the Sheikh thanked all the residents of Hurfeish for their warm welcome and hospitality. Immediately after the conclusion of the official ceremonies, and accompanied by a delegation of sheikhs, he accepted dozens of generous invitations to visit homes in Hurfeish, congratulating its residents on the blessed day of the pilgrimage.
