The Shrine of Salman al-Farsi, or the Mosque and Shrine of Salman al-Farsi, is one of Baghdad's historical and archaeological shrines and an important religious landmark in Iraq, housing the tomb of the companion Salman al-Farsi, as well as the tombs of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, Jabir ibn Abd Allah al-Ansari, and Tahir, son of Imam al-Baqir.
The mosque is located in the al-Mada'in area south of the capital, Baghdad, 30 km from the city center.
The shrine, built with Moroccan-inspired designs reminiscent of Ottoman or Abbasid architecture and adorned with Moroccan motifs, dates back to later periods. The construction of the domes of Abd Allah ibn Jabir, Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, Ali al-Tahir, and the dome of the Imam al-Hasan al-Askari Mosque—which is also part of the Salman al-Muhammadi shrine complex—dates back to 1997. The dome of Salman measures 8 meters in diameter and 17 meters in height, while the two minarets stand at a height of 23 meters with a diameter of two meters.
