The presence of the versatile artist Afif Chaya in the Lebanese artistic scene is diverse; he is not only a singer, but also an actor with an active presence in many works. Not only that, Afif Chaya is also present at artistic festivals.
Born in the town of Sofar on December 10, 1947, Afif Chaya is a veteran Lebanese star hailing from the "beautiful era" who experienced artistic life up close during its golden periods, in addition to being a distinguished musician in his own right. In dramatic works, he performs roles well, having been able to capture the attention of many writers and directors due to his endearing presence and his ability to play diverse characters. At artistic festivals, he sings his own songs and complements them with songs by great stars. He is a humble artist who, as he states in an interview, "is not concerned with the size of the role, but with its quality."

Afif Chaya, who is capable of performing both Tarab (classical) and folk songs, says that many artists gravitate toward folk songs and abandon Tarab, which has almost become an orphan in the recent stage of Arabic singing. As for him, he insists on performing all musical styles in his concerts because of his ability to do so.
In this context, it is worth noting that on the anniversary of the martyr Kamal Jumblatt's birth, the artist Afif Chaya paid tribute in his own way by reviving an old song and presenting it with a new production. The song features lyrics by poet Samir Saab, and is composed and sung by Afif Chaya, with recording at Joe Baroudjian's studio.
He has been honored at many festivals and events of all kinds, including by the "Al-Aseel Association for Reviving Lebanese Heritage" at the "Wazzani Fort Flower Festival."
His works include:
Qadar (Destiny) 2019
Solo Al-Layl Al-Hazin (Solo of the Sad Night) 2015
