There are many stories of heroism and courage that the people of the Druze monotheist community have been distinguished by, in defense of land and honor, and the story of the martyred hero Kamal Hilal Nasr is one of the tales of men who sacrificed their lives for their homelands.

Kamal Nasr was born in the village of Arman in 1941 and was his parents' only child. He received his early education in the schools of Arman and Salkhad.

Ambition and drive were evident in him since his early childhood, and after obtaining his high school diploma, he joined the Air Force College in the Syrian Army and graduated with the rank of Pilot Lieutenant.

He completed many training courses on the "Sukhoi" fighter jet and progressed in rank until he became a squadron leader with the rank of Captain.

He was assigned the mission of striking the military base in Meron on the seventh of October 1973. While performing his mission, his plane was hit, and command ordered him to land in Jordanian territory. At that moment, he said his final words: "Give my regards to my family and the homeland," and steered his plane toward the base to turn it into a ball of fire..

He was promoted to the rank of Major after his martyrdom and received several medals of heroism.
