The Lebanese artist Rida was born in 1977 in the city of Aley. His mother is Syrian, and during his childhood in the Lebanese Civil War, he moved to Syria where he also completed his studies.
He finished his high school education and enrolled in the Higher Institute of Music. He was influenced by singing and music from a young age, as his mountainous voice helped him perform popular Tarab songs.
He studied music and began singing in restaurants, clubs, and private parties in the nineties. He was tutored by major artists in Lebanon and associated with the most important stars in the Arab world.
He later turned to recording his own songs such as "Kaffait w Waffait", "Ya Mekhalli", "Wad'ak Mukhtalif", "Hasal Khair", "Law Kunt Ghaltain", and "Ajab Ya Nas". He released his first album in 2000 titled "Kaffait w Waffait", followed by his subsequent works.
Sultan, Rida's son, is following in his father's footsteps in the world of art.
