In a historic night for Arab art, Syrian artist Ayham Abou Ammar succeeded in achieving a remarkable milestone by winning the Best Actor award from the Canadian actors' union, ACTRA. This achievement is an exceptional milestone for an artist who blended writing, acting, playing music, and singing to create a unique artistic path for himself.

From As-Suwayda to the world of art

Ayham Abou Ammar, who was born in the As-Suwayda governorate in 1984, was always passionate about the arts. He studied at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus and specialized in Arabic singing. Although he was eager to pursue his artistic career, he faced opposition from his father, who did not support his choice of art as a profession.

Diversity of talents

Ayham Abou Ammar did not limit himself to just acting; he was a multi-talented artist. He presented various roles in theater and television in Syria, including his participation in famous series such as "Roof of the World" and "Abu Khalil Al-Qabbani." Additionally, he participated in writing song lyrics, screenwriting, and performing vocals for the soundtracks of some works.

Journey to Canada

After the outbreak of the war in Syria, Ayham Abou Ammar was forced to move to Lebanon and then to Dubai. In Dubai, he worked as a professor of Arabic singing, the oud, and Arabic music theory. During that period, his talent and ability to teach arts and music to others stood out.

Winning the Best Actor award

After moving to Canada in 2018, Ayham Abou Ammar participated in the film "Peace by Chocolate," which is based on the true story of the Syrian Hadhad family who immigrated to Canada. In this film, he played the role of Dr. Tareq Hadhad and delivered an exceptional performance. The film featured a number of Canadian actors and the artist Yara Sabri.

Ayham won the Best Actor award at the 2022 Canada China International Film Festival, making him the first Arab to win an award from the Canadian actors' union, ACTRA. This win reflects the effort and dedication he put into the field of acting and represents a major achievement in his artistic career.

Ayham Abou Ammar's win of the Best Actor award from the Canadian actors' union, ACTRA, is an exceptional achievement for the Syrian artist who expressed his talent and creativity with distinction, despite the challenges he faced throughout his professional life.
