Former MP Walid Jumblatt recalled via his personal account on the social networking site "Twitter", on April 11, 2015, an incident that took place involving Kamal Jumblatt and which someone had recounted to him, writing: "On this rainy evening, I don't know why I remembered an incident or anecdote that happened to Kamal Jumblatt, which someone told me a long time ago."

Jumblatt, in another tweet, added: "My father possessed a sharp wit, and once during a visit to Aabey, he wanted to have coffee at Aref Bey Al-Nakadi's. Aref Bey was one of the well-known Druze notables and from one of the oldest Arab families that inhabited the Western Shouf region, and at the same time, he was the one who founded the Druze Orphanage."

He continued: "Historically, during the time of Sheikh Bashir Jumblatt and as a result of divisions that have passed away forever today, a 'friendly' conflict took place between the Jumblatt and Nakadi families, which led to unfortunate, if not bloody, events. When Kamal Jumblatt arrived at Aref Bey's house, he got out of his car, the old black diesel-engine Mercedes, and as he was about to enter Aref Bey's house, the latter addressed him saying: 'Do you know, Kamal Bey, that your grandfather killed my grandfather?' What a reception."

Jumblatt concluded the anecdote by saying: "Kamal Jumblatt immediately replied, 'It seems, Aref Bey, that he deserved it,' then they had coffee, I believe. A historic cup of coffee."
