Mamdouh Al-Atrash is a renowned, multi-talented Syrian artist and director. He was born on March 21, 1945, in the As-Suwayda Governorate, Syria. His artistic career spans nearly half a century, as he was among the first Syrian academic artists and founders of both revue and workers' theater.

His Education and Early Career

Al-Atrash studied at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Cairo and graduated in 1973. He returned to Syria eager to present his knowledge and expertise on stage. He co-founded the Workers' Theater in Syria and staged innovative productions such as “The Weavers”.

His Contributions to Cinema and Television

Al-Atrash also delivered distinguished cinematic and television works, writing and directing several of them. He played exceptional roles in Syrian drama and took part in several films, including “The Assassination”, “Shehzada”, “Love Money”, among others.
