Nidal Al-Ahmadieh, a Lebanese media figure and publisher of Al-Jaras magazine, is known for her great boldness, which has often brought her numerous troubles.
Al-Ahmadieh hails from the town of Sharoun in the Aley District and was born in Kuwait on December 9, 1963.
Her name first gained prominence at the age of 16 when she outperformed 7,000 contestants competing for the gold medal on the program Studio El Fan in the television presenting category. She won the gold medal, but stepped away from the screen to pursue political journalism. Her very first interview was with Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, at a time when senior journalists had failed to secure an interview with him.
She eventually turned to entertainment journalism, despite noting that art and entertainment journalism is by no means an easy path, though still far less perilous than politics. She contributed to numerous media organizations without being a salaried employee, and went on to establish her own magazine, Al-Jaras.
After graduating from university, she shifted from television to work as a print editor. She later worked for Radio Lebanon, Voice of the People, Télé Liban, the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC), among other networks and major newspapers, before focusing on entertainment journalism. She also became widely known for her disputes with numerous prominent artists and celebrities.
