Judge Fadi Riad El-Asal has been appointed as the head of the Third Judicial Circuit Court in Wayne County, United States. His term will run from December 4, 2023, to January 1, 2025.

El-Asal, a native of the town of Bekifa in the Rashaya District, is a judge and an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan and Henry Ford College, where he teaches business law. He previously served as a federal attorney advisor for the U.S. Department of Defense and was an associate attorney for the firm Cardelli, Lanfear & Buikema, P.C.
El-Asal earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, and his Juris Doctor from the Michigan State University College of Law.
Following his appointment to the new role, El-Asal stated: “I am excited to serve the citizens of Wayne County and the state of Michigan, and I am committed to treating everyone who appears before the court with the utmost respect and humanity. I promise to remain loyal to every person who enters the courtroom by ensuring my decisions are fair and equitable, based on deliberations grounded in the law.”
