Director Qusay Al-Issami, a son of As-Suwayda Governorate, was born in 1991. He graduated from the American Academy with a specialization in film directing in 2015, in addition to his studies in geological engineering.

He participated in the 2013 Dubai International Film Festival, the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival in Canada with a film titled (TIFF Flashes), and the 2017 Sharjah International Film Festival with the film (5–12), which was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, where it received great encouragement and appreciation from prominent international directors.

He established the Basalt Foundation for Film and Television Production and Artistic Distribution, naming it after the basalt rock, a symbol of the lofty Jabal Al-Arab.

He produced the film "Al-Faz'a," which speaks of the heroism of Jabal Al-Arab in the Battle of the Eastern Muqrin on July 25, 2018. The film was screened in Syria and the UAE, participated in several festivals, and won the Best Director Award from the United Nations Human Rights, as well as the Creativity Award for Film Directing at the 11th edition of the Lebanon International Film Festival in 2022.
