Further to the previous statement dated October 14, 2023, in which he declined his appointment as head of the Zajal Poets Syndicate in Lebanon, he returns to confirm his final refusal of the aforementioned position, hoping that everyone will not involve his name in any candidacy, voting, or participation in any of its details. He also confirmed that he does not endorse the name of any candidate or list, and that he makes no distinction between one poet and another, remaining at an equal distance from everyone.
He thanks all the poets and friends who contacted him via phone calls, visited him at his home in Ain Anoub, or reached out through social media platforms, attempting to dissuade him from his decision. He also values their trust and affection, which, if anything, reflect their good intentions and their zeal for this ancient heritage.
In conclusion, poet Tulai Hamdan urged all poets to strive to resolve matters with love and mutual consent for the benefit of Zajal, the Syndicate, and the poetic community, wishing everyone success.
