Wafaa Halim Abed is a bold advocate for women's involvement and participation in political parties in Lebanon, and she served as the President of the Progressive Women's Union.

She also advocates for the implementation of more equitable legal codes for women, particularly the need to abolish discriminatory clauses in Lebanese social security laws. She is an activist in the field of human rights, especially women's economic and political rights, and achieving the amendment of a number of unfair laws and procedures against them, and the amendment of the age of custody.

She holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and Financial Management from LAU, is the Internal Audit Manager for the BBAC Bank Group, and was a member of the Economic and Social Council in Lebanon in 2017, as well as the Committee on Tourism, Urban Planning, and Transport.

She has participated in organizing and attending numerous specialized economic, development, banking, administrative, and legal conferences and activities, as well as those related to risk management and electronic banking operations.
