A scion of the Arslan family, this ancient political dynasty with a long history and a permanent presence in the history of Lebanon and the Druze Unitarian community, represents its continuation in the modern era.
Talal Arslan, born on June 12, 1965, is a Lebanese politician and one of the pillars of the Druze leadership in Lebanon. His father is the political leader Prince Majid Arslan. He heads the Lebanese Democratic Party, which he founded in 2001, after having been appointed as a deputy in 1991 to succeed his father, and was re-elected in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2009, and 2018.

He studied at the "International School of Choueifat" from 1969 to 1976, then moved to "St. Augustine's School" in the United Kingdom, where he remained until 1978. In that year, he returned to Lebanon and re-enrolled in the "International School of Choueifat" until he graduated in 1982.
Between 1982 and 1983, he attended the "United States International University High School" in England, and between 1983 and 1984, he attended the "Freshman Year at New England College" also in England. In 1988, he obtained a degree in Political Science from George Washington University in the United States.

He participated in several governments, holding a number of ministerial portfolios:
Minister of Tourism from December 24, 1990, until May 16, 1992, in the government of Prime Minister Omar Karami during the term of President Elias Hrawi.
Minister of Emigrants from November 7, 1996, until December 4, 1998, in the government of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri during the term of President Elias Hrawi.
Minister of State from October 26, 2000, until April 17, 2003, in the government of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri during the term of President Émile Lahoud.
Minister of State from April 17, 2003, until October 26, 2004, in the government of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri during the term of President Émile Lahoud.
Minister of the Displaced from October 26, 2004, until April 19, 2005, in the government of Prime Minister Omar Karami during the term of President Émile Lahoud.
Minister of Youth and Sports from July 11, 2008, until November 9, 2009, in the government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora during the term of President Michel Suleiman.
On June 13, 2011, he was appointed Minister of State in the government of Prime Minister Najib Mikati during the term of President Michel Suleiman, but he submitted his resignation as soon as its formation was announced.
On December 18, 2016, he was appointed Minister of the Displaced in the government of Prime Minister Saad Eddin Hariri during the term of President Michel Aoun.
