An authentic Druze politician and activist who carried the concerns of the Unitarian Druze community in Palestine and was the Arab MP who championed their demands and anxieties. Most importantly in his career was his constant commitment to strengthening communication between the Druze of Palestine and the Druze in Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.

Said Nafa was born in the village of Beit Jann on 01-04-1953, to a Palestinian father and a Syrian mother who was a refugee following the martyrdom of her grandfather in the Great Syrian Revolt of 1925.

He completed his primary education in the village in 1967, where his ideas were nurtured and his constant longing for liberation grew, leading to him being imprisoned more than once.

In 1972, he launched his call for the formation of the Druze Initiative Committee and stood at its head, and in 2000, he founded the Free Druze Pact, which he still chairs.

In 1978, Nafa joined the Faculty of Law, graduating in 1983 with a law degree. Since then, he has practiced the profession alongside his political activity, serving as a member of the Political Bureau and Chairman of the General Council of the National Democratic Assembly.

Between 1989 and 1992, Nafa was elected as a member and then Chairman of the Municipal Council of his village, Beit Jann. He began writing short stories and journalistic articles at the end of his twenties and continues to do so, with dozens of them to his name. In 2000, he published his first short story collection, "Nakbat al-Dawri." In 2006, he published his second collection, "Al-Ha'il," among other publications.

Nafa entered the Knesset on 25-4-2007 representing the National Democratic Assembly following the resignation of the intellectual Dr. Azmi Bishara. He was a member of the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee.
