The town of Choueit bid farewell to the pious Sheikh Abu Adel Numan Abu Saeed in a massive funeral attended by the Sheikh Akl, Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, at the head of a delegation of sheikhs and members of the Confessional Council. MP Hadi Abu Al-Hassan also participated, representing the former president of the Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jumblatt and the head of the Democratic Gathering MP Taymour Jumblatt, and offered condolences on their behalf.
Alongside the Sheikh Akl, the venerable Sheikhs Abu Zeineddine Hassan Ghannam, Abu Fayez Amin Makarem, Abu Taher Munir Baraka, and Abu Daoud Munir Al-Qadmani were present. A crowd of notables and spiritual, social, and civic figures from the Mountain and Wadi al-Taym also participated, as well as the Vice President of the Upper Metn Municipalities Union Wessam Abu Saeed, heads of municipalities, mayors, and a gathering of residents from the town of Choueit and its surroundings.
At the head of a large party delegation, the Commissioner of the Interior for the Metn in the Progressive Socialist Party, Issam Al-Masri, and members of the commissioner’s staff and branch directors attended and offered condolences to the family of the deceased, who was known in the public squares as a fighter during difficult times, and held honorable positions in defense of the land, honor, and dignity.
Sheikh Akl
Prior to the prayer for the deceased, the Sheikh Akl offered a testimony, saying: "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Our venerable sheikhs, the Abu Saeed family, the honorable people of Choueit, and the virtuous mourners, the Almighty said: 'Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting, and they have not changed in the least.'"
Today, we bid farewell to one of those men who were true to what they pledged to God and did not change in the least.
Sheikh Abu Adel Numan Abu Saeed, we knew him in the prime of his youth, and he was a school for us in gallantry, chivalry, initiative, and pride. He carried in his heart the banner of defending the land, honor, and duty, and he was an example of that whenever the call of duty rang, he answered it."
He added: "The late Sheikh Abu Adel Numan fought the lesser jihad and did not forget the greater jihad. He was pious in his life and in his path, the path of Tawhid (Monotheism). How could he not be, having grown up among his brothers in Choueit and flourished in the seclusion of our venerable late Sheikh Abu Muhammad Jawad Wali al-Din. Sheikh Numan Abu Saeed soared on the wings of manhood and piety, and was grounded in two fundamental pillars: Choueit and Baaqline."
He concluded: "May God grant you a great reward for our dear deceased, and may He compensate us with the well-being of his children, loved ones, his family, and all of you. Indeed, we belong to God and to Him we shall return."
Then, His Eminence Sheikh Abi Al-Muna led the prayer, with the praying Sheikh Abu Suleiman Ghaleb Al-Shoufi by his side, before the body was laid to rest in the family cemetery in the town.
