The 72nd Miss Universe pageant was held with the participation of 84 contestants from around the world in El Salvador, featuring a performance by international singer John Legend. Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua was crowned the winner, while Anntonia Porsild from Thailand was named the first runner-up.
