On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Lebanese Minister of National Defense, Brigadier General Maurice Sleem, laid a wreath on behalf of the Lebanese Republic on the tomb of the independence hero, the late Prince Majid Arslan, in the city of Choueifat, in the presence of the head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, Prince Talal Arslan, a delegation of Sheikhs, the priest of the Greek Orthodox parish of Choueifat, Father Elias Karam, Minister of Displaced Persons Issam Charafeddine, former Minister Marwan Kheireddine, former Minister Saleh Al-Gharib, members of the Political Council and the Executive Body, heads of departments and party units in the Democratic Party, the Mayor of Choueifat Ziad Haidar, members of the Municipal Council, and the city's Mukhtars.
After wreaths were laid by Minister Sleem, Arslan, and a number of figures, dignitaries, and municipalities, Al-Fatiha was recited for the soul of the late Prince Majid Arslan.
