The director of the Arab Media Office in Sydney – Australia remembered the late Lebanese Ambassador Latif Abul-Hosn, writing: “As Lebanon celebrates its Independence Day, we take pride in remembering and recalling the late Ambassador, Dr. Latif Abul-Hosn, a man of character and a fighter, who served as the Ambassador of Lebanon and Dean of the Arab and Foreign Diplomatic Corps in Australia and New Zealand, and who opened the doors of the embassy and his welcoming home to the Lebanese and Arab community and the multicultural and multi-cultural Australian society with all love.”
Abul-Hosn was the first diplomat to plant a cedar tree in the Australian Federal Parliament in Canberra during the celebration of Lebanon's independence, in the presence of official Australian figures and members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps.
