Syrian writer and artist Mamdouh Al-Atrash has called for the establishment of a museum to house the memorabilia of Farid and Asmahan, confirming that "Asmahan's house still stands in As-Suwayda, Syria, and creating this museum is a personal wish for all members of the Al-Atrash family."

Asmahan lived in this house with her husband, Prince Hassan Al-Atrash, before their separation and her departure to Egypt. The house, registered with the As-Suwayda Antiquities Department (in the Old City), received government attention years ago, yet it has not yet been converted into a museum documenting the career of the "Princess of the Mountain" and her brother.

Mamdouh Al-Atrash spoke to the "Asharq Al-Awsat" newspaper on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of Asmahan's birth, which falls on November 25, 1912, noting that "the late artist left no unannounced artistic legacy." He pointed out that he preferred writing a television series about Asmahan years ago because her life was full of contradictions, unlike the personality of Farid, despite his importance. He also revealed his intention to "craft a work that also explores the life of Farid through drama."
