Nabil Mahmoud Tay Abou Dargham has released his new book in French titled: “Before We Close the Doors” (Avant de fermer les portes).

The proceeds from the book, which was published by Arab Scientific Publishers, will go to the charitable activities carried out by the “Ahla Fawda” association to support children who are victims of aggression.

The book is a poetry collection that compiles texts written by Abou Dargham in French between 1983 and 2023, covering topics of war, poverty, the absence of justice, and love, which remain alive as long as conditions in Lebanon and the region continue to harbor them.

The book consists of 126 medium-sized pages and opens with an introduction by Monia Soubra, a professor of literature and language and a friend of the author living in France. Dr. Mervat Tallawy, the former Executive Secretary of ESCWA, also provided a foreword for the book, translated into French by Khalil Tyan.

It is worth noting that Arab Scientific Publishers is releasing a poetry collection in French for the first time since its founding in 1987, after reviewing its content and the quality of the writing.
