Historian Sheikh Ghalib Saliqa, from a prosperous center distributed along the sides of a valley in the far south of Taym, leaning against towering hills, one of which is topped by the noble Maqam al-Bayada. It tells the story of that established relationship of mysticism and monotheism throughout time between high peaks and exalted valleys in the history of this faithful valley.
From a noble Maronite family that was enlightened by the guidance of monotheism, producing prominent figures, human statues, and glowing, pious sheikhs who trod the paths of truth.
Saliqa is a son of the town of Fardis in the Hasbaya district. He is an educational, mission-driven sheikh who believed in knowledge, dedicating to it the prime of his life, his youth, and his old age. He understood the hidden treasures of Taymi heritage in this valley, so he traveled throughout his life in the vastness of its history, writing, documenting, illuminating, and adding to it.
3 Messages
The Sheikh carried three messages in his conscience:
The first: The message of education and teaching, as his life was a confirmation of the famous verse (The teacher is almost a messenger). He was truly that knowledge-based messenger for more than forty years of his life as a teacher and principal, as witnessed by generations that have passed.
The second: The message of piety and monotheism; he was and still is the Sheikh whose presence illuminates gatherings and whose confident speech, fragrant with the light of monotheism, brings comfort to society.
His Works
As for the third message: This is where the Sheikh stands out and excels, as he tells the history, writes, lectures, and documents:
(Min Khawabeena) in which he preserves the ancient news of the Taym community so it is not forgotten.
(Values and Maqams from Heritage and History) where he dives into the depths of heritage and selects hidden gems.
(Harvest of Time) and a bountiful crop.
(Feats and Lessons from Heritage and History) for lessons and reflection.
Nor did the Sheikh, deeply rooted in love, forget to collect and organize in a diwan the feats and poems of an emigrant poet among his kin.
A human stature that overflowed in the sides of Taym, shed light on its heritage, and carried on the shoulders of its life the message of man in the process of his pursuit towards the values of goodness, love, and mysticism.
