Yahya Hussein Ammar, a Lebanese writer, poet, and historian, born in 1927 in the village of Yanta in the Rashaya District.

Ammar enlisted in the army to serve the nation in 1947, served until 1975, and retired with the rank of First Sergeant.

 

His Works

He spent his life in the field of literature and history, leaving behind many valuable works, the most important of which are: History of Wadi al-Taym and Neighboring Regions, Origins and Genealogies Part One, Origins and Genealogies Part Two, The Just King Nur ad-Din, Whispers and Every Poem Has a Story, and there are many books of poetry and ghazal that were not published.

 

Ammar emigrated in 2010 to Edmonton in Canada, where he resided with his wife and children until his death in 2015.
