A member of the Unitarian Druze community, Lebanon's Ambassador to Russia, Shawki Bou Nassar, participated as Ambassador and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in the Russian Federation in a series of diverse political, diplomatic, cultural, and religious seminars and meetings in Moscow, alongside Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, his deputy and President Putin’s Special Envoy to the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov, and the President of the prestigious Russian Diplomatic Academy (one of the oldest in the world), Ambassador Yakovenko, and ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries.
He also participated in the city of Kazan in the Arab Social-Cultural Forum - Ship of Love and Peace, which includes members from Lebanon and all Arab countries and was headed by Ms. Asia Qasim, in the presence of representatives from the presidency and relevant ministries. Discussions were held on ways to strengthen and develop strong relations of friendship and cooperation with the Russian Federation and its people.
