Sheikh Aql of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, sent a cable of condolences to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on the passing of Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, which stated:
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, with great respect.
We extend to Your Highness, the honorable family, and the friendly Kuwaiti people our deepest condolences and sympathy on the loss of the figure of the Arab nation, the Emir of the sisterly State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, whom the Arab and Islamic world lost as a champion of unity, fraternity, and peace. The Lebanese also lost a benevolent and loving face, just as dear Kuwait lost him—a country whose leaders, government, and people have always stood by Lebanon's side during the various crises and tribulations it has faced at several stages. We pray to God Almighty to grant you and your honorable family success for the good of the State of Kuwait and the good of the Arabs and Muslims, and for the continuation of the path of goodness, openness, and giving that has characterized Kuwait, its Emirs, and its people.
As we extend to Your Highness, the honorable family, and the Kuwaiti people our sincere condolences, we ask God Almighty to cover the great late leader with His vast mercy and to protect you all with His care and guardianship. Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return.
