The town of Baisour laid to rest Sheikh Abu Wissam Saeed Malaeb, in the presence of the Sheikh Aql of the Unitarian Druze Community, Sami Abi Al-Muna, heading a delegation of sheikhs and members of the Confessional Council, alongside the participation of His Eminence Sheikh Judge Naim Hassan and the venerable sheikhs: Abu Zein El Din Hassan Ghannam, Abu Fayez Amin Makarem, Abu Taher Mounir Barakat, Abu Dawood Mounir Al-Qadmani, Abu Yousef Amin Al-Aridi, Abu Mahmoud Saeed Faraj, Abu Hani Masoud Jaber Shehayeb, and a crowd of sheikhs, prominent figures, and residents from the town and the region.
Following a brief speech by the late Sheikh's brother, Sheikh Abu Nabil Adib Malaeb, regarding the deceased and thanking His Eminence and the attendees for their condolences, His Eminence the Sheikh Aql presented a testimony for the late Sheikh, saying:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
“O soul at peace, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing, and enter among My servants, and enter My Paradise.”
Our venerable sheikhs, esteemed mourners, and the honorable Malaeb family. May God increase your rewards and have mercy on Sheikh Abu Wissam. This scene bears witness to what he was; Baisour bears witness, as do the Al-Shahhar region and the Mountain, and the venerable sheikhs testify that he was one of the steadfast, pious men. He was distinguished by both his lesser and greater jihad; he was at the forefront of defending the land, honor, and duty, and one of the heroes of Baisour, the Mother of Martyrs. He was hospitable alongside his brothers and his honorable family, his two noble brothers: Sheikh Abu Nabil Adib—may God prolong his life—and Sheikh Fouad—may God grant him health. In his greater jihad, he was pious, persevering, committed to the path of Tawhid (monotheism), and diligent in the duties of religion. May God have mercy on him, and indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return.
His Eminence then led the funeral prayer alongside Sheikh Abu Samah Rabie Malaeb, after which the body was laid to rest in the family cemetery in the town.
