A celebratory meeting was held at the Mir Amin Palace in Beiteddine to mark the New Year for the Al-Shouf Cedar Reserve team and the Board of Directors, represented by MP Akram Chehayeb, Mrs. Nora Joumblatt, Michel Skaff, and the head of the reserve committee, Faisal Bou Ezzedine, with the participation of the Qaimaqam of Shouf, Mrs. Marleine Kahwaji, and a number of heads of municipalities within the biosphere reserve, as well as entities that worked with the reserve during the past year.
The reserve director, Dr. Nizar Hani, and the team gave a visual presentation that began with a tribute to those who passed away: Waheeb Ghaith, Mayor of Niha, and Charles Najem, head of the reserve committee, through which they spoke about the achievements, challenges, and aspirations.
There was a welcome for the joining of 3 villages to the reserve's biosphere: Batloun, Bater, and Al-Wahraniyah.
