The president of the Association avecexpat association and website, university professor and journalist Ola Al-Kantar, has been awarded a PhD with highest honors in Language and Communication Sciences (Sciences du langage) from the University of Bourgogne Franche-Comté in France, where the committee praised Al-Kantar’s research aimed at developing methods for teaching and learning the French language in Lebanon.

In her research, Dr. Al-Kantar addressed the positive as well as negative points experienced in the process of teaching and learning languages in her home country, Lebanon. She proposed modern methods and means to develop this educational process, shedding light on the importance of training teachers and learners to use technology in education effectively, in a way that mirrors the needs of the current era.

During the defense, the professor supervising the PhD and head of research at the university, Professor Serge BORG, praised the excellence of Lebanese people across all parts of the world, especially in France. He mentioned the French-Lebanese writer Amin Maalouf, who was appointed as the permanent secretary of the Académie Française, to highlight the success of the Lebanese people despite all difficulties and tragedies.
