As the eyes of football fans and followers across Asia turn to the Qatari capital, Doha, where the eighteenth edition of the tournament will kick off on January 12, 2024, and continue until February 10, 2024, a Lebanese sports achievement has been recorded, represented by the appointment of Dr. Bashir Abdel Khalek as General Coordinator for Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, which will host 6 matches during the tournament, most notably the match that will bring together Australia and Uzbekistan on January 23.
It is worth noting that this is Abdel Khalek's second appointment for the AFC Asian Cup tournaments, as he held the same duties during the edition held in the United Arab Emirates in 2019.
