The city of Aley and the Unitarian Druze community in Lebanon held the funeral of the late Sheikh Abu Abdullah Kamal Abdullah Chehayeb at the Al-Risala Social Association hall on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in the presence of His Eminence Sheikh Al-Aql Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, heading a delegation of Sheikhs, members of the Madhhabi Council, and advisors, alongside the participation of His Eminence Sheikh Judge Naim Hassan and the esteemed Sheikhs: Abu Zeineddine Hassan Ghannam, Abu Fayez Amin Makarem, Abu Saeed Anwar Al-Sayegh, Abu Taher Mounir Barakat, Sheikh Abu Daoud Mounir Al-Qadmani, Abu Youssef Amin Al-Aridi, Sheikh Abu Saleh Mohammed Al-Andari, Abu Mahmoud Saeed Faraj, Sheikh Abu Masoud Hani Chehayeb, and a crowd of Sheikhs and spiritual, social, and civil figures from the city and the region.
The prayer was preceded by a tribute to the late Sheikh delivered by His Eminence Sheikh Al-Aql, saying: ”
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Our esteemed Sheikhs, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Hassan, our honorable Sheikhs in Aley, dear families and mourners.
God Almighty said: “Say, 'Indeed, the death from which you flee – indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do.'” And God Almighty said: “So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.” Truthful is God Almighty. It is the deed that informs you of what you used to do, and whoever does an atom's weight, it is the deed which is the door and the path to entering Paradise, to entering the pleasure of God Almighty, the righteous deed. And the venerable Sheikh, the late Sheikh Abu Abdullah Kamal Chehayeb, may God have mercy on him, is but one from this house, in piety, wisdom, brotherhood, love, and righteous deeds. He is from the house of the esteemed Sheikhs in Aley, who are emulated in deeds, in true faith, in loyalty and belief, and in uniting the ranks, which is the basic foundation in this community for the sons of this noble path, the path of Monotheism (Tawhid), who still—and we with them—call for unity, for love, and for brotherhood.
He added: Is there anything clearer or purer than these white turbans that crown this city, this community, and these mountains, so that we may remain loving brothers in God, and that the righteous deed may always remain the key and the path to the pleasure of God Almighty? May God have mercy on Sheikh Abu Abdullah, may God increase your rewards, and indeed we belong to God and to Him we shall return.
