Lebanese poet and journalist Ramzi Azzam passed away following a heart attack while in Riyadh1. .

Azzam, who hailed from the town of Maaser El Shouf2. , joined the 'Al Arabiya – Al Hadath' channel since its inception and recently moved with the channel's team to Riyadh after years of working in the United Arab Emirates.

Just a few hours before his death, Azzam had written his final poem on his social media pages, saying: "I wish I had a house that no one would ever leave / With photos of everyone I love inside it / To drift off as I sleep / And wake when I wake / And whenever someone is blinded by my clouds' rain / And loses the way to my house / An eyelid is a door that opens to find them."

Azzam had released two poetry collections: the first, "A Dream," in 2010. The second collection was titled "A Coffee Pot of Ink," published by "Al-Muallif Publishing and Printing House" in 2018, which included more than 50 poems in which he communed with nostalgia for the homeland, love, and his mother.
