The Druze community in the United States of America has bid farewell to a man of charity, a great philanthropist, and a generous soul, Engineer Fouad Salim, who passed away in the United States on March 2, 2024, at the age of ninety.
The late Salim was a cornerstone of the Druze community in America, having served members of the community for decades as a representative of the Mashyakhat al-Aql in both their joys and sorrows, without any compensation.
He held many positions, notably in the American Druze Society, where he served as President of the General Assembly and President of the Washington Chapter. He also served for 48 years as the officer in charge of collecting donations from the diaspora and sending them to Druze charitable institutions, such as the Druze Orphanage and others in Lebanon and Syria.
The late Salim is a great loss to the Druze community, and his fingerprints will remain present in the memory of everyone who knew him, as well as for future generations.
