On the occasion of World Cancer Day, students of the Al-Irfan Asmoqanieh schools carried out a remarkable initiative by organizing a Bake Sale to raise funds among themselves in support of patients at the Children's Cancer Center. They also organized a special scientific symposium where they explained types of cancer and methods of prevention, featuring meetings with doctors, specialists, and child patients, in the presence of Mrs. Nora Joumblatt and the General Manager of the Children's Cancer Center, Hana El Shaar Choueib.
The President of the Al-Irfan Foundation, Sheikh Nazih Rafeh, received Mrs. Joumblatt and Mrs. El Shaar in the presence of his advisor, Public Relations Director Dr. Rami Ezzeddine, and members of the administrative body, explaining to them the goals of this initiative, which comes within the framework of Al-Irfan's humanitarian and social strategy.
Before starting the initiative's activities, and following the meeting with the Foundation's president, Mrs. Joumblatt and Mrs. El Shaar toured the sections of the Al-Irfan schools and examined the latest educational and technological programs used in the educational process. They also visited the Al-Irfan National and Scientific Museum, participated in the Bake Sale with the students, and moved to the Al-Irfan Secondary School building, where they attended the scientific symposium on cancer.
