A delegation from the Cave of Arts Association and its Board of Trustees visited the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, where they met with the Ministry's Director General, Imad Al-Ashkar, in his office, in the presence of the Association's friend, Dr. Iyad Sukkarieh.
The delegation included artist Gandhi Bou Diab, Mrs. Nada Farhat, and Dr. Nisreen Harfoush, and they briefed the Director General on the association's activities related to cultural, artistic, heritage, and sports programs, which cater to students of public and private schools and high schools of all ages.
Emphasis was placed on the necessity of holding lectures, seminars, and training courses in all educational institutions, along with the importance of screening a documentary about the Cave of Arts museum, the circumstances of its establishment, and its development until it became a distinguished artistic, heritage, and tourism landmark on the level of Lebanon and the Arab world, which is visited by connoisseurs, tourists, and students from all Lebanese regions. All of this was accomplished through individual effort and self-capabilities, with the aim of motivating students to interact and benefit from their own self-capabilities and intellectual skills in the fields of art and spoken poetry.
In addition, the importance of including methods of learning the language of poetry and the mechanism of art adopted at the Cave of Arts in educational curricula and programs was discussed. The visit had a positive resonance with His Excellency, as he expressed his pleasure with the activities and works of the Cave of Arts, calling on all schools and high schools to organize periodic visits to the cave to see its artistic and heritage exhibits and benefit from the programs it offers, promising to visit it at the beginning of next spring.
