The “Lebanese for Lebanon” association in Los Angeles, USA, held a ceremony marking the 16th of March, the anniversary of the martyrdom of the leader Kamal Jumblatt, in the presence of association members, members of the Progressive Socialist Party in the diaspora, and their families.1.

Nassib Al-Shaar delivered a speech discussing the journey of Kamal Jumblatt as a fighter and humanitarian, and his reform project. Then, the party representative in the United States, Sami Al-Qadi, spoke about the project and struggle of Kamal Jumblatt's party and the journey of thousands of militants in the party for a more just and humane Lebanon. He recalled what the party has contributed on the political, social, and economic levels over the past years, standing alongside the people and their rightful demands in all circumstances. He also spoke about the party's role since the Taif Agreement, recalling its opposition to certain economic projects at various stages, including privatization. He affirmed that it is unacceptable to lump the party and thousands of militants together with those who looted the country. In this context, he recalled Walid Jumblatt's statement that everyone is under the authority of fair justice, but accusations cannot be thrown around, especially since the party has clear positions on the entire economic crisis and ways to exit it, supporting the rights of depositors and ensuring tax justice, concluding that the struggle continues for a free, democratic, and more just Lebanon.

During the ceremony, Dr. Hayel Said was honored for his exceptional contributions to all sectors, including health, social, and educational fields, and he received a commemorative plaque from the representatives of the Lebanese for Lebanon association.
For his part, Dr. Said thanked the organizers of the association for this kind gesture, emphasizing the role of the diaspora in standing by their motherland and their fellow countrymen in these difficult circumstances.
In conclusion, the poet Ali Shaaban recited a poem inspired by the occasion.
