The Sheikh Aql of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, met at the Community House in Beirut with the Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, to offer congratulations on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. The meeting included a discussion on general conditions and regional developments, including the repercussions of the ongoing war in Gaza and Lebanon, in addition to internal issues, especially the movement undertaken by Ambassador Bukhari and the Quintet Committee, in order to reach understandings to end the presidential vacancy.
The meeting was an occasion during which Sheikh Abi Al-Muna welcomed the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to which Lebanon owes many brotherly positions and initiatives during the trials and hardships it continues to face, through which it has demonstrated concern for our homeland and adherence to the historical relations that bring the two brotherly countries together. His Eminence saluted every sincere effort with good intentions that ultimately serves the interest and stability of Lebanon, hoping in this regard that officials would turn to taking steps that would strengthen channels of dialogue and converge with the proposed initiatives to end the vacancy in the presidency of the republic, form the authority, activate the work of institutions, and safeguard the constitution as stipulated in the Taif Agreement.
After the meeting, Bukhari said: "I was honored to meet with the Sheikh Aql, where we offered him congratulations on the advent of the holy month. It was an opportunity during which we discussed the most prominent developments, especially the keenness I sensed from His Eminence regarding the importance of completing the presidential entitlement as soon as possible, in order to preserve the security and stability of Lebanon. I briefed him on the efforts of the Quintet Committee hoped for in this framework."
