On the occasion of March 16th, the forty-seventh anniversary of the assassination of Kamal Jumblatt, Mukhtara and the Teacher's shrine were crowded with popular, Palestinian, youth, and partisan delegations commemorating the anniversary. To this end, a massive march set off from the Mukhtara Palace towards the shrine, led by MP Taymour Jumblatt, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Diana, and his sister, Mrs. Dalia, alongside religious figures from Christian and Islamic denominations, a representative of Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Minister of Education Judge Abbas Halabi, a delegation representing the Sheikh Aql of the Druze Unitarian community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, headed by the President of the Druze Supreme Court of Appeal, Judge Faisal Nasser Al-Din, and judges from the Druze sect. This was in addition to members of the Board of Directors and the Confessional Council, officials from the Sheikh Aql and Confessional Council directorates, current and former MPs of the Democratic Gathering, Vice President of the National Movement Mr. Tawfiq Sultan, delegations from the Palestine Liberation Organization and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, the Organization of Leftist Action, and the Democratic Kurdish Building Movement - Syria, Lebanon organization.
Also participating were the Commander of the Judicial Police, Brigadier General Ziad Qaedbay, a large delegation of sheikhs from the Al-Irfan Unitarian Foundation headed by Sheikh Nazih Rafe, a representative of the Maronite Archbishop of Sidon, Bishop Maroun Al-Ammar, Father Elie Kiwan, a delegation of scholars and mosque imams, Vice Presidents of the Progressive Socialist Party, the Secretary-General, members of the Leadership Council, commissioners, internal agents in the regions, branch managers, and its supporting institutions in the Women's Union, the Youth Organization, the Scouts, the Progressive Alumni Association, and the Friends of Kamal Jumblatt Association, alongside heads of federations, municipalities, municipal and mayoral councils, large youth groups, the "Mukhtara Group," and trade union, educational, cultural, and civil delegations that filled the palace courtyards, with their members carrying flags and banners.
Upon the march's arrival at the shrine, religious figures recited Al-Fatiha, as did MP Jumblatt and those present, for the soul of Kamal Jumblatt. Wreaths and flowers were placed, as well as Al-Fatiha and flowers at the shrines of his two martyred companions, Hafez Al-Ghosaini and Fawzi Shadid.
The march was preceded and followed by visits from several spiritual, social, and civil delegations that went to the shrine. On the eve of the anniversary, the Shouf and Mount Lebanon regions were adorned with torches and candles, and portraits of Kamal Jumblatt were raised above the streets and on balconies.
