The Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, Talal Arslan, affirmed that “the dispute that took place between a group of young men from the towns of Aramoun and Aitat at the University of Balamand – Souk El Gharb months ago is a painful incident that must be put to rest on all levels. Today, under these circumstances, it is a duty to exercise the language of reason and logic, and to maintain calm and stability in the Mountain as in all of Lebanon,” extending his thanks to all the benevolent individuals who contributed to achieving this reconciliation and rapprochement between the two sides.

Arslan's remarks came following his meeting with a delegation of notables and residents from the towns of Aramoun and Aitat during his weekly receptions at the Arslan Serail in Choueifat, who thanked him for his mediation in resolving the dispute. In addition to the sheikhs and notables of both towns, the delegation included the Party’s Foreign Relations Officer Mohammad Al-Mohtar, former Aitat Mayor Salah Al-Taymani, Aitat Mukhtar Ghassan Al-Taymani, Aramoun Mukhtar Nadim Al-Mohtar, and Lawyer Bassam Al-Mohtar, in the presence of the Western District Head Walid Al-Ayyash, Aitat Unit Head Khaled Al-Taymani, and Aramoun Unit Head Bayan Al-Jarhari.
