The Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, affirmed during a call he received from the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, extending congratulations on the blessed Eid al-Fitr, that “Bkerke has its customary role during crises, which all the sincere people in the nation rely upon.”
He considered that “the discourse of love and peace is what must prevail, instead of being drawn into rumors and negative reactions, which reflect on Lebanon's image of diversity, unique cultural and social characteristics, and the hoped-for future.”
Patriarch Al-Rahi and the Sheikh Akl emphasized “the need for a spiritual and national voice that helps protect stability and support institutions in performing their required national role.”
In the same context, the Sheikh Akl stressed during his call to MP Ghassan Hasbani to offer condolences for the coordinator of the Lebanese Forces in Jbeil, Pascal Sleiman, the “necessity for calm and self-restraint,” and he delegated member of the Druze Council, Amer Sayegh, to offer condolences on his behalf.
