In an unconventional way, visual artist Yazan Saleh Rizk from the village of Bekka in As-Suwayda Governorate creates works of extreme beauty, investing everything nature has bestowed upon us to serve his beautiful art.

An Experience Outside the Norm

The experience of 30-year-old Yazan is unconventional, as he utilizes many materials—car dust, coffee, food items, fruits, stones, herbs, and ash—to shape magnificent paintings, embodying a remarkable creative state.

Yazan says that he "hates being restricted to a certain method in his artistic experiments, and he wanted to break away from the idea of paper, pen, brush, and paint, using any material that can be manipulated to create an artwork that serves his subject," pointing out that he "began this personal experiment in 2020."

Themes

Considering that an artist is a product of his environment, Yazan Rizk was able to embody in his paintings the suffering of Syrians due to the war, their difficult living conditions, and high prices. He also drew other poignant subjects related to motherhood, returning to childhood days, and political, artistic, and sports figures who left a positive impact on people."

Paintings Linked to Atmosphere and Subject

The completion of Yazan's paintings is linked to the atmosphere and the subject, although finishing any painting does not take more than two hours with intermittent breaks.
