The Mountain region and the town of Al-Khuraibeh – Chouf held the funeral for Sheikh Wael Aref Abu Hamza, brother of Sheikh Wajdi Abu Hamza, in a solemn ceremony held in his hometown of Al-Khuraibeh. The participants were led by His Eminence the Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze Community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, who attended at the head of a large delegation of sheikhs, members of the Druze Council, and officials from the directorates of the Sheikh Akl office and the Council, as well as advisors. Also present were Mr. Walid Jumblatt and the head of the Progressive Socialist Party, MP Taymour Jumblatt, at the head of a delegation that included Mrs. Nora Jumblatt and MPs from the Democratic Gathering bloc, including Marwan Hamadeh, Akram Chehayeb, Hadi Aboul Hosn, and Wael Abou Faour. From the party, members of the leadership council, commissioners, interior agents, representatives, and branch managers in the region were in attendance, as well as Fadi Abu Fakher, the head of the Chouf district department in the Lebanese Democratic Party, representing the party's leader, Prince Talal Arslan.

Also participating were Sheikh Abu Daoud Munir Al-Qadmani, the President of the Supreme Druze Court of Appeal Judge Faisal Nasser Al-Din, Judge Sheikh Gandhi Makarem, other judges from the sect, the President of the Al-Irfan Monotheistic Foundation Sheikh Nazih Rafeh at the head of a large delegation of sheikhs from the administration and its staff, the Commander of the Judicial Police Brigadier General Ziad Kaidbey, Father Elie Kiwan representing Bishop Maroun Ammar, in addition to a large number of spiritual, political, social, and civil figures, local dignitaries, mayors, mukhtars, and residents from the town and the region.
