Dr. Imad Aboud is a creative and well-known figure who has managed to leave his mark on the global medical stage through patents and numerous studies and research in his field of neurosurgery.
Aboud was born in As-Suwayda Governorate on April 17, 1962, and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University
in 1986. He holds the Syrian Board Certificate in Neurosurgery, obtained in 1993.
Aboud worked in his specialty at Zaid Al-Shariti Hospital in As-Suwayda and at the University of Arkansas in the United States, where he served as a Research Instructor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences from July 2001 to June 2003 in the United States of America.
He was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences from January 2007 to March 2010 in the United States, then as Director of Education and the Neurosurgery Laboratory at the Institute of Neuroscience at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences from January 2011 to the present.
Aboud was able to obtain a patent by producing human models that combine human anatomy with surgery-like conditions.
Aboud's invention allows surgeons to train for all types of surgical procedures, thereby reducing the rate of surgical errors and increasing the overall success rate of surgeries to serve patients.
He also received a patent for a vascular clip related to cerebral vascular and arterial anastomoses used in the field of neurosurgery.
Aboud also has numerous research studies in the fields of brain tumors, cerebrovascular lesions, the development of surgical intervention methods, and anatomical studies, in addition to performing many specialized surgeries.
Aboud's humanitarian imprints demonstrate the nobility of this important scientific figure through his annual visits to his hometown, where he provides his services to hundreds of patients free of charge.
