His Eminence the Sheikh Aql of the Druze Unitarian Community, Sheikh Dr. Sami Abi Al-Muna, met with former Minister Marwan Khair El-Din to thank him for his recent honorary visit to his father, the head of the “Druze Heritage Foundation,” businessman Sheikh Salim Khair El-Din, at his residence in Beirut. Khair El-Din conveyed to His Eminence his father’s and family’s appreciation for his spiritual and national role, which is inclusive at the community level, in the presence of several members of the Madhhabi Council and officials from the Council and the Sheikhdom of Aql. The meeting was characterized by cordiality and consultation regarding many ideas proposed for the advancement of the community and its institutions, investing its endowments, caring for the family, promoting Unitarian culture, and other national and public issues.
His Eminence Sheikh Abi Al-Muna also received a delegation including: Dr. Antoine Messarra, Dr. Moufida Abed, and Mrs. May Abu Saleh. He also received Sheikh Bilal Muhammad Dallal, as well as Dr. Fares Zeitoun and journalist Kamal Dhiban, who came to thank him for his condolences on the passing of his brother, Issam.
Chanieh
His Eminence the Sheikh Aql met at his residence in Chanieh with a student delegation from Notre Dame University – Louaize, supervised by Dr. Ziad Fahed, as part of a cultural visit to the Chouf region to learn about religious and cultural diversity and coexistence as part of a World Religions course. The students listened to an explanation of the most prominent beliefs and cultural and spiritual manifestations of the Druze Unitarian community, in addition to its role in affirming the message of fraternity and the importance of coexistence with others and respect for religion, which His Eminence described as the “foundation for building a promising future for all citizens.” The delegation expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by His Eminence in this regard.
In turn, Dr. Fahed and the students thanked His Eminence the Sheikh Aql for the reception, warm welcome, and generous hospitality. The delegation then visited the shrine of Prince Al-Sayyid Jamal al-Din Abdullah al-Tanukhi in Abey to learn about the historical and religious significance of the shrine before visiting the town of Deir al-Qamar.
Condolences
His Eminence the Sheikh Aql, heading a delegation of sheikhs and members of the Madhhabi Council, visited the city of Aley to offer condolences on the passing of the sister of the venerable Sheikh Abu Masoud Hani Jaber Shuhaib, Sheikha Umm Salman Nihad Shuhaib, widow of the late Sheikh Abu Salman Nasib Shuhaib, and for Mr. Nasib Al-Daoud at the Social Message Hall.

On the other hand, His Eminence delegated a number of his representatives to meet with the Minister of Culture, Judge Mohammad Wissam Al-Mortada, at his office in the National Library in Sanayeh. The delegation included the head of the Cultural Committee in the Madhhabi Council, Sheikh Imad Faraj, and council member and advisor for communication and public relations, Sheikh Fadi Al-Attar, who conveyed to Minister Al-Mortada a message of appreciation and respect from His Eminence the Sheikh Aql. It was an occasion during which some cultural affairs were discussed, as well as the invitation extended by the Minister of Culture to His Eminence the Sheikh Aql to visit the city of Tripoli, as part of the events held in the northern capital, which has been declared the Capital of Arab Culture for 2024.
Additionally, he delegated Board of Directors member Naji Saab on the occasion of the Armenian Genocide anniversary at St. Gregory's School; Council member Sheikh Sami Abdel Khaleq to represent him and deliver his speech at the official launch ceremony of the “Lebanese-Maltese Agricultural-Humanitarian Program” at ESA University in Clemenceau; Syndicate Council member Akram Arabi to offer condolences for Mr. Ziad Qantiss at the Greek Orthodox Church in Ashrafieh; and advisors Sheikh Daniel Saeed at the Family Empowerment Conference at Al-Maaref University in Beirut, Sheikh Dr. Ramzi Sarieddine at the Educational Conference of the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) in UNESCO, and Sheikh Amer Zeineddine at the “Bridges of Dialogue” meeting at Jesus and Mary School in Rabweh – Qornet Chehwan, regarding the Document on Human Fraternity.
