The Little Artist program in As-Suwayda province nurtures promising artistic and literary talents as one of the free volunteer initiatives implemented by the Mahaba wa Wafa Association.

Faryal Al-Salim, Chairwoman of the “Mahaba wa Wafa Association,” stated that the program was launched about two months ago and is seeing the participation of more than eighty children and teenagers aged 7 to 14, in the fields of singing, poetry and story writing, musical performance, drawing, eloquence, and public speaking.”

Al-Salim continued, “The program relies on participants competing through stages and qualifying rounds, at the end of which winners are selected based on the evaluation of specialized committees formed for this purpose, with cash prizes allocated for them.”

The program aims to discover the talents of children and teenagers, introduce them to the public, increase their self-confidence, create a spirit of competition and creativity among them, and motivate them to train more and pay attention to their talent.

For her part, Doaa Nassar, a member of the program’s coordination committee, said that “this program is being held for the first time in As-Suwayda province, and it greatly supports children’s talents and encourages them to showcase them to others,” noting that “coordination for it took place by receiving calls from children wishing to participate four months ago, as they will all qualify for the fourth and final stage in the coming period, during which the most distinguished among them will be determined.”

In turn, poet and teacher Majda Abu Shaheen, a member of the supervisory committee for eloquence, public speaking, and poetry and story writing, said that the program has presented a group of promising pens and talents that deserve support and refinement of their skills.
