In the midst of the Arab artistic scene, dramatic works hold great importance, especially when they come from prominent figures like Syrian director Rasha Sharbatji, who recently praised the efforts made by the writers of the series “Wlad Badia,” artists Yamen Al-Hajali and Ali Wajeeh. The duo managed to deliver a high-level dramatic script in record time, reflecting skill and creativity in working under pressure.

Sharbatji explains in her statements to the press, “The work was supposed to be shown next year, but a sudden decision was made to present it this year.” Despite the pressures and challenges faced by the team, the series achieved brilliant success, indicating that good work can overcome obstacles.

Sharbatji continues, saying, “There is no doubt that the result would have been more than wonderful if more time had been available.” She responds to the criticisms that affected the series by pointing out that there is no perfect work in terms of script, direction, and music, but the distinguished performance of the actors was enough to compensate for any shortcomings.

The series “Wlad Badia,” which was shown during the last Ramadan season, is a social drama revolving around an epic struggle between four siblings in a family that works in the leather and tannery industry, and it is produced by Penta Lens. It stars Sulafa Memar, Mahmoud Nasr, Samer Ismail, and Yamen Al-Hajali.

Yamen Al-Hajali, born on July 26, 1984, in As-Suwayda Governorate, is a Syrian actor, screenwriter, and television director, a graduate of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, and has many distinguished works such as “Mal Al-Qabban” and “Wlad Badia,” among others.
