Dr. Issam Kammache, a specialist and consultant in pediatric cardiology in France and founder of a national initiative named 'New Heart, New Hope,' which is dedicated to treating Syrian children with heart diseases and performing heart surgeries for them in France free of charge.
He was born, raised, and educated in the town of Al-Ghariyah, south of As-Suwayda Governorate, until he received his high school diploma in the scientific stream.
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University.
He holds a postgraduate degree in pediatrics from Damascus University.
He also received the Arab Board certificate in pediatrics in 2004 as a consultant in pediatrics for all Arab countries.
In 2005, he obtained a specialty certificate in pediatric cardiology in France.
Dr. Kammache says to the Encyclopedia of Syrian Pioneers Abroad around the world:
"I have worked in many hospitals in France, in Paris and Marseille, and in Switzerland in the field of pediatric cardiology.
I was part of the first medical team in France to perform a pulmonary valve implantation in children without surgery or scarring (only via cardiac catheterization) in 2009."
Dr. Issam continues: "In the field of scientific research, I have many medical research papers and articles published in the most famous international journals and websites.
I am also a member of the peer-review committee for international medical journals to verify and study medical research before approving its publication."
"Regarding the humanitarian and charitable aspect in my field of specialization... thanks to the 'New Heart, New Hope' initiative that I founded in March 2021, dozens of Syrian children with heart defects have been saved and treated. We treat Syrian children in France and sometimes in Switzerland, performing heart surgeries for them for free... and the work is still ongoing."

It is worth noting that Dr. Issam Kammache is married to the lawyer Taghrid Ismail Shuja' from As-Suwayda Governorate, and they have 3 children.
